Cochin - Fishing Nets

Day 01 - Arrive Cochin

You are greeted on arrival at the Kochi International Airport/Railway station by The Travel Planners representative and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free to relax in the Hotel and overnight in the Casino Hotel.

Jewish Synagogue - Cochin

Day 02 - Cochin

Today morning after breakfast you can go for the sightseeing of Cochin. Here you can see the St Francis Church, the oldest Church in India, 500 year old Portuguese Houses, Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, 16th century Synagogue, Jew Town and Mattancherry Palace, built by Portuguese, this Palace contains some of India’s most beautiful murals. Evening go for shopping. Overnight at Hotel Casino Hotel.

Rubber Tapping

Day 03 - Homestay

This luxury home is only 13 km from the famous Thattekad Bird Sanctuary. You can see the tapping, procuring and preserving of rubber, see a lot of spices and enjoy different varieties of fruits in this plantation. Overnight at the Mundackal Estate Bungalow.

Elephant's bath

Day 04 - Homestay

Early morning, drive to the Kodanad Elephant Orphanage, where you can participate in the elephants’ bath and feeding. Elephant rides will also be possible later in the morning. Mundackal Estate Bungalow.

Thekkady Wildlife Santuary

Day 05 - Thekkady (Periyar)

Today morning after Breakfast drive to Thekkady the famous wildlife sanctuary of South India, home to nomadic tribes of wild elephant, boar, deer, the great Indian tiger and more. On arrival check in to the hotel. Overnight at Spice Village.

Periyar

Day 06 - In Thekkady (Periyar)

Today morning after breakfast go to see the rare species of plants and animals. Afternoon Visit spice plantations like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee, tea estates etc. On your way back to the hotel, you could stop at the local market and pick up some fragrant spices. Overnight at Spice Village.

Kumarakom

Day 07 - Kumarakom

Morning drive to Kumarakom covering a distance of 125 kms / 04 hrs. On arrival check-into a beautiful backwater resort. Afternoon visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary(Optional). There you can spot King fisher, Wood peeker, Drongo, Egrets, Bee-caters etc. Relax and overnight stay at Coconut Lagoon.

Houseboat

Day 09 - Houseboat

Today morning after breakfast, 12 noon check in to a traditional house boat of Kerala style and cruise through the backwaters. (Traditional Kerala food will be served). The houseboats are giant country Crafts, measuring up to 80 feet length. It looks great skill and meticulousness to construct these giants by tying huge planks of jack wood together, without the use of a single nail. Today these are the most exciting tourism product in India, which usually has one or two bath rooms, an open lounge, deck, kitchenette and crew comprising oarsmen and a cook.
